Thank you for your consideration in support of our ongoing efforts to design and construct a permanent public memorial in Newtown and our secondary mission to provide assistance in area’s that will benefit the needs of the town of Newtown and its citizens. In this regard, The Newtown Alumni Association (NAA) at times, conducts business under the acronym NAAMI and as such, NAA and NAAMI are one in the same account. In the interest of transparent compliance and law, NAA has registered this DBA (NAAMI) with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and the Town Clerk's Office of Newtown.
The Newtown Alumni Association Inc. operates as a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Its Board of Directors all serve in a volunteer capacity and its members provide services as volunteers. NAA currently employs no salaried personnel or paid workers in its daily operation.
The Newtown Alumni Association Inc. account is managed by NAA’s officers and is maintained at the Newtown Savings Bank. It is the primary financial arm of NAA Inc. and provides NAA with the necessary operating capital to pursue goals that contribute to its primary mission (A Permanent Public Memorial) and are essential for the overall mission to be successfully completed. For example, it will be used to support some general expenses including some initial expenses that will assist us in obtaining federal and state funds for Fairfield Hills Campus building remediation. NAA will not expend any capital from this fund other then for the agreed upon expenses connected with this memorial project and its secondary approved missions.
With the minimal operating expenses anticipated by NAA Inc. and its DBA NAAMI in day to day endeavours, we are confident that we will be in a position to dedicate a minimum of 95% of donated funds toward our represented purpose.
With your support, NAA will continue to move forward with unwavering conviction that these initiatives will become a positive and healing reality for the town, its citizens and generations yet to come. We remain optimistic, determined and unified within our coalition of organizations and do sincerely appreciate your generous support in this mission of healing and remembrance.
